Octagon Club
What is the Octagon Club?

2012-2013 What is Octagon?

The Octagon Club is a community service club run by students and sponsored by the Redwood City chapter of Optimists International. Club members have the opportunity to volunteer with various organizations and participate in activities such as the following:

  • Second Harvest Food Bank
  • Rebuilding Together Peninsula
  • Boys and Girls Clubs of the Peninsula
  • Crane Place, Menlo Park
  • RWC Spooktacular
  • Peninsula Library System
  • Beach clean-ups and restoration
  • African Library Project
  • RWC Optimists Crab Feed
  • Salvation Army

During the school year, club members attend weekly meetings to learn about upcoming events, listen to guest speakers, and sign up to volunteer.

In addition, club members may work on their own outside community service projects and add these hours to their time spent on club events.

For club events and approved projects, students earn ONE school credit for every FIFTEEN hours they volunteer.

Meetings are on Mondays at lunch in Room E-10.
