Is driver education required to be offered by school districts?
Yes. EC Section 51220(j) states in part that: "The adopted course of study for grades 7-12, inclusive, shall offer courses in the following areas of study . . . (j) Automobile driver education."
The statistics are grim: every sixteen hours a California teenager is killed in a car crash. Auto collisions is the number one killer of teens.
I augment my instruction with CSAA Program which "is designed to help teens test their skills and prepare for potentially deadly driving situations before they face them for real on the road." |
I received my Bachelor of Science and a secondary teaching credential from UC Davis.
My current teaching assignment is Driver Education, Physical Education and Phoenix/Novanet/Gradpoint. |
