About the Music Boosters

The Woodside High School Music Boosters is a volunteer group that helps support the Woodside High School Wildcat Marching Band, Jazz Band, String Orchestra and Choir.

Funds we raise pay for instruments, repairs, uniforms, transportation, music, entry fees, and many other expenses.



WHS Band Camp 2009

WHS Music Department runs a Marching Band Camp during the following days:
 
9am - 3pm     Mon-Fri           Aug 10-14, 2009
9am - 12pm  Sat.                Aug 15, 2009 perform for Freshman Orientation
9am – 3pm    Mon-Tues.      Aug 17-18, 2009
*9am Call time on the Aug 15th to be confirmed; the Marching Band will perform at a PEP rally for incoming freshman

During the Band Camp, students will learn pep tunes and the marching maneuvers. Students should bring lunch and a water bottle each day, wear sun screen and a hat. It is very important for marching band students to wear comfortable shoes as they will be on their feet a good portion of the time. All students enrolled in Advanced Band, Band I or Band II must attend. This is a free Band Camp for all WHS Marching Band members!!!

Music Department Spring Concert, Thursday, May 14

Come to the Woodside Music Department Concert and hear the Concert Band, String Orchestra, Choir, and Jazz Band perform under the baton of Rob Baker, Music Director.

The concert will be held in the WHS Performing Arts Center on Thursday, May 14 at 7:00 p.m.




Annual Dinner Dance, Woodside Music Then & Now, February 27

This was a very special evening celebrating music traditions at Woodside in this 50th Anniversary Year. The annual Music Department Dinner Dance featured a cabaret theatre-style performance by the Woodside Concert Band, Jazz Band, Choir and Orchestra, complete with a delicious dinner and drawing for prizes.

Next year's event is planned for February 26, 2010. Don't miss it!




Mardi Gras Live - Zydeco/Blues Fundraising Concert, February 7

A good time was had by all at this concert held at the American Legion Hall in Redwood City. Proceeds benefited the music department at Woodside High School. This fundraising concert was organized by former Woodside alumni members of the Madison Blues Band (www.madisonbluesband.com) and featured world-renowned Zydeco artist Andre Thierry (www.andretheirry.com) as well as the Madison Street Blues Band and our very own Woodside Jazz Band.
