The Woodside High School Foundation (WHSF) is a volunteer-run nonprofit organization whose sole purpose is to raise funds to close the gap between public funding and the cost of a high quality education.
The Foundation works with the Principal to identify key areas for funding that will have a significant impact on the quality of education and high school experience of all our students.
In the fiscal year 2016-17, more than 500 donors gave more than $1,000,000 to Woodside High School through the Foundation. As a result, many of our students are attending classes with a lower student-to-teacher ratio, including AS, AP and core English, social sciences, math classes, and electives. Class size reduction touches more than 60 classrooms, providing students with a personalized, encouraging classroom experience. Our students are also able to take advantage of a robust variety of elective courses, including Debate, Mobile Apps, and Entrepreneurship. And virtually all students benefit from increased academic support, including assistance at The Den, state-of-the-art equipment for our new science and technology programs, summer enrichment classes, and guidance from two College and Career Counselors, and the use of the newly refreshed and redesigned library in the 2017-18 school year.
