The English course of study is based on the California English-Language Arts Framework, which is composed of objectives for each grade level in the areas of language and thought processes, speaking, writing, listening, and reading. All English departments are committed to follow the Framework. At the time of completion of four required years of English, students will have received instruction in all areas covered by the objectives.
