FHA/HERO WOODENSPOON CLUB

 

 

Club Name: Woodenspoon

 

Purpose:      1. To provide opportunities for personal development and preparation for adult life.

2. To strengthen the function of the family as a basic unit of society.

3. To encourage democracy through cooperative action in the home and community.

4. To encourage individual and group involvement in helping achieve global cooperation

and harmony.

5. To promote greater understanding between youth and adults.

6. To provide opportunities for making decisions and for assuming responsibilities.

7. To prepare for the multiple roles of men and women in todays society.

8. To promote Home Economics Careers and Technology related occupations.

 

Who can Join: All students. However, only students who are taking or have taken a

Course in Home Economics Careers and Technology and / or related occupations

Through grade 12, and adults enrolled in a related occupation ROP course may do

competitive recognition events (CRE).

 

How to Join: Contact the Home Economics Careers and Technology Teacher/FHA-HERO advisor or

Chapter officer in Room C-10.

 

How Financed: Fund raising, catering, and special FHA-HERO chapter events.

 

Officers & Duties:

 

President - Manages, officiates, and leads chapter and executive council meetings and activities. Appoints committees. Attends chapter executive council meetings. Represents the chapter at school student council. Reports information to the chapter.

 

Vice President -fills in if the president is absent or unable to attend. Assists the president in any way possible. Attends FHA-HERO Chapter meetings and Executive Council meetings.

 

Secretary -takes minutes,. roll, and assists with membership recruitment. Attends FHA-HERO chapter meetings and Executive Council meetings.

 

Treasurer - prepares budget. Gives current reports and keeps financial records. Makes contact with the business offices. Follows cash handling procedures. Attends FHA-HERO Chapter meetings and Executive Council meetings.

 

Historian - keeps a written history of the chapter. Prepares the chapter scrapbook. Attends FHA-HERO Chapter meetings and Executive Council meetings.

 

Reporter -reports the news of the chapter to the school, region and state. Writes bulletin notices. Attends
FHA-HERO Chapter meetings and Executive Council meetings.
