2005 WASC results will guide future goal formation
By the end of the 2007-2008 school year:
1. All students will be provided instruction related to
the California Content Standards and individual student
level of mastery will be regularly assessed utilizing Edusoft
Data Analysis Software and or other methods of assessments.
2. Teachers in all academic content areas will use the
same kinds of reading comprehension, vocabulary building
techniques, and writing rubrics across the curriculum to
help students become better readers and writers. (WHS Literacy
Plan)
3. The percentage of WHS students performing at the proficient
level or higher on each California Content Standards Test
will increase by a minimum of 5%.
4. WHS will continue to explore the means, including existing
models (e.g. Colony, Academy, Teams) of fostering greater
personalization, creating smaller learning environments,
and integrating curriculum, and make a fiscally responsible
recommendation for future action.
5. The number of graduates meeting the CSU and the UC A-G
requirements will increase by at least 5%.
6. The number of students receiving a passing score on
each section of the California High School Exit Exam will
increase by a minimum of 5%.
7. Those English Language Learners consistently enrolled
in WHS courses during 2007-2008 will advance at least one
level of proficiency as measured by the total score on the
California English Language Development Test (CELDT). (minimum
5% increase)
8. The staff of each academic support program will hold
at least two meetings with parents to discuss their programs
to empower parents to become partners with educators and
to highlight student achievements. (Academic support programs
include, but not limited to: Guidance, ELLAG, ELLET, AVID,
MESA, Compass and Academies).
9. The Average daily attendance will be
at a 95% or higher rate. (The number of dropouts will decline.)
