Open Forum:
- Arlene reported on the success of the Woodside / Carlmont
Robotics team.
- Homecoming
Week – all parents are invited to attend the dance
Saturday night and Megan noted the week's activities.
- Stanford University
has expressed interest in our shared decision-making process
and might attend some meetings.
- Kelly Nordstrom announced as
the new SDMC member replacing Molly Nixon.
Minutes:
Minutes from the meeting of October 8, 007 were approved with minor modifications
to attendance and the date of the meeting.
Agenda Items:
The Agenda was approved with slight order modifications.
SSC Funding Proposals :
- Kathy Soulard explained the budget (approx. $35 k unallocated
at this point + approx. $36 k from MAA + carryover and
new money from Site Discretionary Grant of approx. $46 k).
- Anne
Ken's request for $1,000 for book club was omitted from
SSC Funding Requests; now back in.
- It was reported that the
Foundation has not met yet about funding requests for this quarter.
- Tabled until next meeting for a vote.
Consistent Practices for 2007-2008 :
The ad-hoc committee (Wendy, Lisa, Michael and Diane) created
a feedback form for department chairs to solicit information
from all departments. The BOSA team and PTSA will also
be included. The feedback will then be used to decide
on the consistent practices for 2007-08.
Motion to go
forward to Department Chairs with the form, approved by consensus. Freshman
Truancy and Violent Offenders:
Tabled until next meeting. School Site Council Training – Part B :
- Richard Lintz of SMCOE and Suana Ponce-Gilman from SUHSD presented.
- Purpose: connected plan and data for SSC and
SDMC, as well as SPSA.
- Planning Cycle: Data (student needs) à Action
Plans à funding
- Monitoring Cycle works backwards from expenditures
to plan to data.
- WHS student data was analyzed using the Cycle of Development.
