My name is Christian Ostberg and I’ll be taking over as the Coach of the Woodside High School golf team for the 2020 season. Originally from Darien, Connecticut, I’m a graduate student at Stanford studying Management Science & Engineering. I’ve been playing golf for as long as I can remember… since I was about 4 years old. I played in my first tournament soon after, and I’ve been competing ever since. In high school, I captained our golf team, held a scratch handicap, won my club championship, and came in 3rd place at the Connecticut State High School golf tournament. Since coming out to California in 2016, I’ve played on Stanford’s Club Golf Team and enjoyed some of the amazing courses that the Bay Area has to offer. Now that I’m finishing up my studies, I couldn’t be more excited to shift my attention to Woodside’s golf program and sharing my love of the game with all of you. I can’t wait to meet you all and get this thing started!
Golf at Woodside is a Co-Ed sport, which competes in the Peninsula Athletic League. The program's goal is to teach the players to learn and have an appreciation for the game of golf. The program highly emphasizes ettiquette and rules. During the course of the season players will practice and expand on the science of the swing and aspects of the short game. We emphasize the respect, responsibility, and honesty of the game.
