WHS administration, in consultation with varsity head coach Justin Andrews and the PAL commissioner, is forfeiting the varsity football game vs. South San Francisco that had been re-scheduled for this Thursday, November 9, 2017. Varsity has struggled with low numbers all season. At this late point in the season, recent injuries have dropped the varsity team's numbers below a playable level. Again, WHS varsity football is forfeiting this week's game.
WHS JV football team has sufficient player numbers and will play South City this Thursday at 5:30 pm as re-scheduled.
Thank you for all the support you have given to the players and coaches this year. Although it's been a challenge to win on the scoreboard, the team's spirit and morale has remained optimistic. The team has studied hard, practiced hard, and played hard. Coach Andrews and his staff look forward to having the JV play their final game of the season and then begin work to field complete JV and varsity teams for the 2018 season.
