Parent Meeting: TBD
All parents should attend this meeting. Fundraising objectives will be covered for the season and further details about the program will be shared by the Coaches.
For this season, we have a Main team and a Development team.
IMPORTANT: All athletes that have been in the Track and Field program before must contact me, Head Coach Chris Pedrin - date TBD - to find out their status if they have not already been contacted by me. Please call or text me at 415-730-1569 or email cpedrin77@gmail.com
No athlete will be able to start practices until all Medical or Academic holds have been cleared through Sportsnet. Please contact Tim Faulkner, Athletic Director, at tfaulkner@seq.org if you have any questions.
First practice for freshman and new applicants for the Track and Field team must report by: Date TBD
Assessments for new athletes and returning athletes not yet on the Main team, will take 3 days to complete. On the fourth day, athletes will be assigned to either the Main team or the Development team.
If an athlete is assigned to the Developmental team, they will report to Coach Peterson and may, upon approval of Coach Peterson, get the opportunity to try for the Main team after a two week period. The two week period of conditioning must be completed with no absences.
If an athlete does not meet the conditioning standard during the first two week period, they may continue to train with Coach Peterson to improve their status to qualify for the main team.
Athletes entering the Track and Field program from another sport, but who have been pre-selected for the Main team, must be ready to begin workouts immediately. Athletes from another sport without any previous experience in Woodside Track and Field must participate in a full day of assessment.
All athletes on the Main Team will be required to participate in 3 events at every league meet, and be available to participate in a fourth if called upon. More details on expectations to come.
All Main team athletes will be required to attend every weekend Invitational they are invited to and all five league meets. If an athlete misses one league meet, they will be cut from the team.
Practices are M-F 3:30 - 5:30 pm. No athlete may leave before 5:30 pm unless approved by the Head Coach. Leaving early may result in being sent to the Development team or being cut from the sport. Cuts from the team will also be given for reasons of non-participation, lewd or insubordinate behavior, lack of effort, unsportsmanlike conduct or any action causing a detrimental effect to the team.
Parent Volunteers. Parents are needed as volunteers to help with all Home League meets.
We look forward to a great season working with your athletes in WHS Track and Field!
