| Overview of Summer Offerings |
Woodside High School will be offering a full range of summer opportunities for incoming freshmen and continuing students.
Woodside High School will host its own "regular" summer school which will be comprised of core subjects intended for students to recover credit and get back on track for graduation.
Beyond "regular" summer school, Woodside offers three different programs for incoming 9th-graders, including: Compass, ALearn/AVID, and Math Acceleration.
The Math Acceleration Program is open to all Woodside High School students, grades 9-12, who will be enrolled during the 2013-2014 school year and who meet the criteria delineated below. Students may take Geometry or Algebra II.
Please see the respective sections below for more detailed information. |
| ALearn--Ensure Success in Geometry |
ALearn is a pilot program targeted at bolstering a student's command of the Algebra I curriculum so as to ensure success in Geometry in the ninth-grade. Students who complete the ALearn program will be very well positioned for success in Geometry. The class is taught by a member of the Woodside Mathematics Department, and the program also has a strong emphasis on colleges and universities.
Students who enroll in the ALearn program are great candidates for the AVID program, which is a program that extends over all four years at Woodside, and is designed to assist students who are first in their families to attend college.

Is the Math Acceleration Program right for me?
If I advance an entire level of Mathematics, won't I exhaust all of Woodside's offerings before my senior year?
